Organizers of Churdan Day this coming Saturday, June 15, have planned a fun-filled day to celebrate as only a small town can.
The day begins with a Fun Run 5K. Registration will open at 7 am at the park. The race starts and finishes at 7:30 at the park. There is a $10 charge for participants age 13 and older; children run at no charge.
A 3-on-3 basketball tournament will begin at 9 am in the park. Registration deadline is Wednesday, June 12. There is a $30/team registration fee. Click here for the registration form.
Line-up for the parade will begin at 9 am at the school parking lot. The parade will step off at 10 am with the route going to Sand St and returning to the school.
A vendor fair is slated for 10 am to 1 pm in the park.
Following the parade there will be lunch concessions from 11 am to 1 pm, and a car/tractor/semi show from 11 to 2.
The park will be the place to be for free inflatables from 11 to 3; the 515 cornhole tournament (registration at 12, bags fly at 1); a sand volleyball tournament at 12; Churdan’s own Town & Country Band playing in the gazebo at noon; and free kids games at 2 pm.
There will be facepainting in the community room starting at 12:30 pm. Next door at the library there will be BINGO and a local artist display from 1 to 4.
The fun also includes Big Wheel races for kids at 3 pm.
The firemen’s beer garden with music provided by the Shuffle Couple will be available from 8 to 11 pm.
